PFLICHTKAUF!!!!!!!!

Ok, So I got this Record the Other day right after I caught the end of their set at Dingbatz in Clifton NJ. I was pissed they played so early because I really really really wanted to see them play. Not only do they have one of the more unique sounds the songs are very well written. They sound great live and this record was recorded really good so I was not disappointed in the least. Fact is Im glad I got it because I lost the CD Gerard (vocals, ex frontman of Bottom of the Barrel) gave me a year ago. I left it in the cd player of the rental car!
Anyway this is a great record, and if you are a NY Mets supporter you'll dig the ode to the Mets on side B.
Do yourself a favor and get a copy while they last:

| Decent debut outing from this NYC four-piece. The band displays some quality musicianship on the four workmanlike oi!/street-punk/rock tunes here, most notably in the occasional guitar leads and bass runs. The EP's title track is the best of the bunch sonically, with its catchy chorus and backup shouts, while the pro-working class track "Overtime" (dedicated to the Carpenters Union Local 45) has the strongest lyrics. For me, the weakest song (musically and lyrically) is the rockin' "Bridge Store." Finally, even though "Metropolitans" references the Sox's tragic defeat at the hands of the aforementioned in '86...at least they ain't Yankee's fans! - Chris Hubbard |

45 ADAPTERS, THE:
Not One More Day: 7”
After a quick glance at this 7” jacket, smattered with Fred Perry ensembles and a dedication to a carpenters’ union, I was preparing myself for some run-of-the-mill, American-style oi. Thankfully, this is not the case. Actually, the 45 Adapters (questionable name choice aside) are infinitely more interesting than the bands they’d likely play alongside. Make no mistake, there are elements of gruff street rock present, but it’s clear that these lads also have an ear for Jamaican ska and R&B, and it shines through not only in the music, but also in the production of the record. The recording alone sets this band apart from its peers, which is painfully necessary in a genre that is totally oversaturated and typically invariable. I’d definitely be interested to hear what else these guys have in store. –Dave Williams (Longshot/Contra) |
